Shannon Rose Andrus is an artist based out of Michigan. She has worked professionally for over 20 years in the areas of illustration, fine art painting, graphic design, and art education and therapy. She started her career working as a graphic designer creating ad campaigns for leaders such as Maya Angelou and Sue Coe. Over the years she has freelanced as an editorial and children’s book illustrator, created hundreds of custom paintings for clients all over the world, and has worked with various companies such as the TLC show, Say Yes to the Dress.
In 2008, Shannon founded Hearts for the Arts, a art studio that specializes in working with individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities. Her studio provides art therapy services for all ages, as well as skill building and entrepreneurial training for students to learn and thrive as working artists.
Shannon loves all areas of art and experiments with different mediums and techniques. In her work she often uses an array of traditional materials including acrylic and oil paint, colored pencil, charcoal and ink. When she’s not creating you’ll find Shannon in nature, exploring with her husband, 2 little boys, and pup.
